PodCamp Philly is glad to announce that we've secured a preferred rate for PodCamp and SearchCamp attendees at Center City Philadelphia's Hilton Garden Inn.

The Hilton Garden Inn Philadelphia Center City hotel of Philadelphia is a 100% non-smoking hotel, which is centrally located to all PodCamp-related events as well as adjacent to public transportation, the Gallery Mall with (over 100 shops and restaurants), Reading Terminal Market, the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and the theatre district.

Without getting into too many details, highlights include:

• $129 + tax & parking

We have reserved 30 rooms, so supplies are limited. Those interested must book there room by August 23rd. Afterward, Hilton will offer the reduced rate only as long as they have rooms available.

Social Events

Remember, social media is all about people and PodCamp Philly is no different. We've planned a couple social events to promote interaction among attendees, foster meeting new people and just plain have a good time. We've picked a couple spots we're sure you're going to like:

Friday Welcome Party - North Bowl, Northern Liberties, Philadelphia 7 - 9pm

What could be better than meeting new people than bowling a few frames and having a couple of beers in the heart of Philly's up and coming Northern Liberties neighborhood? We've rented the upstairs loft which overlooks the entire bowling alley and contains a private bar, plenty of comfy seating, a few pool tables, a foosball table and even a few lanes for ourselves. While we'll cover you for the cost of shoe rental, you've got to pay for your drinks!

That means that there will be a  cash bar (at least until some generous sponsor steps forward) and food will be available. The event location is:

Saturday Evening Social - Triumph Brewing Company, Old City, Philadelphia 7 - 9pm

For 2008, PodCamp Philly returns to Triumph Brewing Company - hopefully we won't get thrown, out this time... Located in Philadelphia's Old City and arguably one of the most historic square miles in the United States, Triumph is also smack dab in the middle of all sorts of night life, too. I guess Ben, George and all those founding father guys enjoyed their fun too.

The event will be held on the second floor and will feature a cash bar and food will be available.
