A Letter to Potential Sponsors
Dear Potential Sponsor,
Thank you for your interest in supporting PodCamp Philly being held September 6th and 7th at
Philadelphia’s Temple University. We’re confident that your sponsorship of this unique event will benefit
your organization on a variety of levels. But first, let’s talk basics:
What is PodCamp Philly?
Podcamp Philly is a New Media Unconference, now in its second year. It will be held September 6 & 7 at Philadelphia's Temple University, at the Tuttleman Learning Center. This year's conference will concentrate on taking attendees' new media projects, whether podcasts, blogs, video blog, or websites to the next level.
With that in mind, PodCamp Philly is pleased to partner with SearchCamp, a new conference designed to assist the small and medium sized business market themselves online. With topics like Search Engine Optimization, PPC Marketing, Blended Search, Corporate Blogging presented by industry professionals, we know PodCamp Philly 2008 will be great.
Although PodCamp Philly and SearchCamp are targeted for existing new media users and participants, we're still friendly to beginners. Hey, everyone has to start somewhere, right? ? And PodCamp is the perfect place. We will have plenty of sessions targeted toward the beginner and we even have a page on the PodCamp Philly website covering some PodCamp Basics to whet beginners appetites. In fact, we encourage those new to New Media to review these video tutorials... they will cover subjects like the basics of Social Media, Podcasts, Wikis, RSS and more.
This year, in the interest of sustaining our community commitment, we are instituting a nominal registration fee ($20), which covers both days of Podcamp and the social events. This registration fee is going in total to support the Science Leadership Academy, a special admission Philadelphia Public High School. Science Leadership Academy has a commitment to inquiry-based learning with a focus on science, technology, mathematics and entrepreneurship, and money raised from Podcamp will got o support their one on one laptop program.
The Power of Unconference:
The power of an UnConference is you get access to ideas, thoughts, best practices, and the true "wisdom of crowds" simply by registering and attending. An UnConference brings people with many different skill set together with the spirit of sharing and learning. We're audio and video podcasters, enthusiasts, businesspeople, hobbyists, musicians, promoters, marketers, and people who generally want to understand more about the new media space. We would like everyone to participate in some form or another and learn.

- Development of new professional and personal relationships
- Promote yourself and your business

Anything Else?
Yes. While we always appreciate financial support, PodCamp is about active participation. The quality of an unConference is dependent on the degree of engagement of its participants. And that means You. Regardless of your decision to sponsor PodCamp financially, we encourage you to lead a session and promote attendance within your sphere of influence. After all, the spirit of PodCamp is to share and learn. Whew!, that was a lot to cover…We’re sure that you may have additional questions and we’d love the opportunity to speak with you further about how your organization can benefit from supporting PodCamp Philly.
